Principal’s Message

Luana Milburn Wesley, Principal

Happy New Year Holmes Families! We are looking forward to a great 2017 at Holmes.  We hope that all of our students and families had a nice winter recess break. As we return for the 2nd semester, it is very important that we all focus on getting back into the strong routines that contribute to successful learning.

Two important routines are regular attendance, an on-time arrival (7:30 a.m. is the earliest arrival time), and a solid homework and nightly reading routine, will help all students to be successful.

We continue to work toward building literacy in all academic areas with our students. I am hopeful that all of our families will help to support our efforts to improve the reading and writing skills of our students. Students who read thirty-minutes each day will make much more growth than their peers who do not read thirty minutes each day. This independent reading is vital for the development of reading skills.

Parents are vital in every aspect of the student success.  Your involvement is always needed.  Please carve out every 3rd Tuesday to attend our PTO meetings held from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.  We need you and your support.  Please come out and participate.

Mensaje de la directora
Luana Milburn Wesley, Directora
